Malts, banana splits, and fresh salt water taffy at La King’s Confectionary in Galveston. YUM!

This past week my sister and her husband came to visit us in Houston. They are so much fun and are totally in the newly wed phase, I love it! We had a lot of rain, but the sun managed to come out for a few hours during our beach trip to Galveston. It ended up being 70 degrees and sunny which resulted in sunburns for all.

In addition to our beach trip to Galveston, which naturally included a stop at La King’s Confectionary for ice cream and salt water taffy, we also went to the Houston Zoo, the NASA Space Center, Escape the Room in Houston, and ate tons of delicious food/sweets. We also had a Jurassic Park movie marathon since all of the movies are now on Netflix each night after we put Theo down.

I’m always so sad when company leaves and I think Theo is extra bored when it’s back to just me entertaining him all day long. This past weekend was low key, although I did manage to snag third place in the cobbler contest at our church’s chili cook off! I used this SUPER easy Better Crocker recipe. It’s our favorite and apparently other people think so too! The only thing missing was vanilla ice cream, but we went home with half a gallon of Blue Bell as our prize so we will probably end up making it again this week!

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!
